Insead Innovator Prize – Event Photography in Brussels was covered by Ivo Popov Photography

The INSEAD Alumni Association of Belgium plays an active role in the Belgian business community and wishes to honour the innovative capabilities of Belgian business leaders.

The INSEAD Innovator Prize is awarded each year by the INSEAD Alumni Association of Belgium to people who, in the eyes of the Selection Committee, have made an innovative contribution and had a lasting impact on the Belgian or international business community.

On Tuesday, 3 December at SILO Brussels, the 32nd Innovator Prize was awarded to Onno van de Stolpe, CEO Galapagos nominated for his persistent belief, investment and innovation in the Biotech Industry.

Conference photography in Brussels for ESNO – The European Specialist Nurses Organisation is a non-profit organisation and the goal is to facilitate and provide an effective framework for communication and co-operation between the European Specialist Nurses Organisations and its constituent members. ESNO represents the mutual interests and benefits of these organisations to the wider European community in the interest of the public health. Members of ESNO consist of individual European specialist nurses organisations.

ESNO is responsible or cooperates with institutes on publication on health related publication related to the nurses profession such as Guidelines, E-book, Newsletter and Annual Reports. The publications are for public use. Publications on specific specialist areas related to members are found on members websites.

ESNO’s investment into continuous professional development and training helps to meet new skill needs. ESNO ensures Europe’s health workforce is kept up-to-date and safe to practice.

ESNO hired me for their conference photography in Brussels needs in February 2020. The congress was held in the “Les Atelier des Tanneurs” in Brussels. The delegates discussed current problems and solutions for their respective fields. There were presentations, q and a sessions and individual workshops.

Event coverage in Brussels for EURADA – European Associaton of Development Agencies

Event coverage in Brussels for EURADA. Founded in 1992, the European Association of Development Agencies gathers people working on economic development through a large network of 76 members throughout 22 countries in the European Union and beyond. Regional development agencies are a designated meeting place between local actors. They carry out an economic development mission characterised by the search of the collective or overall interest of an area (and not corporative or sectorial) and which are significantly linked with a local, metropolitan or regional authority with respect to management, financing or missions. In order to carry out this mission, they gather highly skilled professionals and are able to answer the specific needs of firms willing to develop their activities.

As major economic actors in their regions, RDAs missions consist in assembling, coordinating and promoting best initiatives. The EURADA network connects its members with all kind of economic development practitioners such as RDAs, business partners and European authorities.

Event photography for Insead’s Viewpoint at “Cercle de Lorraine” club in Brussels.

We’re in a climate emergency, can business impact the world we live in for the benefit of all?

This year at Insead‘s Viewpoint attendees discussed what business can do to alleviate climate change? There is a crisis everywhere in political leadership, what sort of leadership do we need to get us out of this mess? If politics cannot solve the situation, can and should the business community take a much more active role than it takes today? What is People, Planet, Profit? Can we still do something? Do you feel concerned as a business leader?

INSEAD established the Hoffmann Global Institute in 2018 to deal with the issues of business and society, including climate change. If political leadership can’t solve the problems of the 21st century – and even our school children are striking – what can we do as business to impact the world we live in for the benefit of all?

Guests speakers were Chris Peeters – Group CEO, Elia and Valerie Del Ré – Executive Director, Greenpeace Belgium.

I was commissioned as an event photographer in Brussels for ILGA’s European equality gala 2019. It was a beautiful and well organised event in Area 42 in Brussels.

It was a great event where LGBTI activists, NGOs, policymakers and supporters of human rights have a chance to celebrate together (and raise money) at the start of summer.

Event photographer in Brussels for BNP Pariba Fortis

As an event photographer in Brussels I was very lucky to document an event co-organised by Insead Alumni organisation in Belgium and BNP Pariba Fortis on the topic of sustainability. The main speaker was the inspiring Philippe Joubert – a French Brazilian business executive focused on building sustainability into the heart of business strategies to enable long-term growth.

Sustainability is a challenging topic for all of us and for business and opinion leaders specifically. Hence, this is subject of many board discussions nowadays. Board Members today, should have the necessary insights to integrate sustainability into their governance responsibilities and own the first practical tools toward becoming “Earth Competent Boards”.

The Keynote by Philippe Joubert: “Business as usual is dead” was followed by a roundtable moderated by Professor Luc Van Liedekerke, with testimonials of Martine Reynaers (Reynaers Group) and Natasha Lippens (Finasucre).

Event photographer in Brussels for SAA – March 2019

The Society of Audiovisual Authors (SAA) represents the interest of collective management organisations (CMOs) and their audiovisual authors’ members in Europe.

They support audiovisual authors and promote cultural diversity through policies that enable the dissemination of audiovisual authors’ works to the audience. CMOs’ role is to give easy, legal access to those works and ensure authors are fairly paid to encourage further creativity for the benefit of society.

The SAA’s main objectives are the following:

  • Support and strengthen the economic and moral rights of audiovisual authors (screenwriters and directors);
  • Secure fair and proportional remuneration for audiovisual authors for every use of their works;
  • Develop, promote and advance the collective management of rights by member organisations to provide a cost effective, transparent and efficient system to facilitate the dissemination of audiovisual works and the distribution of royalties to authors.
